I have played countless of hands of vingt-et-un. I started sneaking into the gambling dens when I was still underage. I have wagered on online chemin de fer, I have counted cards, and worked as part of a team for a short time. With all that said I have still lost all kinds of cash at twenty-one. The gambling halls have made it very hard to defeat the house.

I still enjoy the game and gamble on a regular basis. Over this time period I have wagered on a type of twenty-one called "The Take it Leave it Method". You certainly won't get loaded with this method or beat the house, still you will have a lot of fun. This method is centered on the idea that chemin de fer appears to be a game of runs. When you are on fire your hot, and when you're not you are NOT!

I gamble with basic strategy blackjack. When I lose I wager the table minimum on the subsequent hand. If I lose again I wager the lowest amount allowed on the next hand again etc. Whenever I win I take the winnings paid to me and I wager the original bet again. If I win this hand I then leave the winnings paid to me and now have double my original wager on the table. If I succeed again I take the winnings paid to me, and if I succeed the next hand I leave it for a total of four times my original wager. I continue betting this way "Take it Leave it etc". Once I lose I lower the action back down to the original bet.

I am very strict and never back out. It gets very enjoyable on occasion. If you win a few hands in sequence your wagers go up very fast. Before you know it you are betting $100-200per hand. I have had great streaks a couple of times now. I left a $5 table at the Wynn a number of years ago with $750 after 60 minutes using this method! And a number of days ago in Atlantic City I left a table with $1200!

You have to understand that you can say good-bye to a great deal faster this way too!. But it really makes the game more exciting. And you will be surprised at the runs you witness wagering this way. Here is a chart of what you would bet if you continue winning at a $5 table.

Wager five dollar
Take $5 paid-out to you, leave the initial five dollar wager

Wager five dollar
Leave 5 dollar paid to you for a total bet of ten dollar

Bet 10 dollar
Take 10 dollar paid-out to you, leave the original ten dollar wager

Wager ten dollar
Leave ten dollar paid-out to you for a total wager of twenty dollar

Wager twenty dollar
Take $20 paid to you, leave the original $20 wager

Wager twenty dollar
Leave twenty dollar paid-out to you for a total wager of 40 dollar

Wager 40 dollar
Take forty dollar paid to you, leave the original 40 dollar wager

Wager $40
Leave 40 dollar paid to you for a total bet of 80 dollar

Bet eighty dollar
Take 80 dollar paid to you, leave the initial 80 dollar bet

Wager 80 dollar
Leave eighty dollar paid to you for a total bet of $160

Wager 160 dollar
Take $160 paid-out to you, leave the first 160 dollar wager

If you departed at this moment you would be up $315 !!

It is hard to go on a run this long, but it will happen. And when it does you can't deviate and lower your wager or the end result won't be the same.
